Cy has been a regular performer for many years. He does not seek to be the artist; he prefers to be the performer.

Abramović is a no
Cy said “well, I think I succeeded in all the casting exercises without messing up – slow walking, being squeezed past, long-hold poses, etc. It was a wonderful dream to get chosen as an Abramović Re-Performer for the Royal Academy, but always an unlikely one given my physique and age (even though I’m a lot younger than Marina). Good luck to the 35.”
While working with university art students at UAL Camberwell, tutor Esther Bunting and Cy referenced the RA show and some of Abramović’s works. They recreated the famous Imponderabilia performance whereby the viewers pass through the performers to go through the doorway.
